In a few hours I will be heading over to the residence of Lexy Parks to meet up with the team pre-shoot, to start getting everything ready. Michelle Behr, who will be photographing the shoot, has gone out of her way to confirm an absolutely beautiful central indoor location right which I have never been too, but am SO excited to see and experience. I am so grateful this shoot was able to come together before my departure to Calgary. I didn't want our last project to be our last project.
Michelle took a solid lead on bringing the team together and creating an amazing vision really quickly and efficiently. It is always a pleasure to be part of a team where everyone is so inspired and motivated.
I am also excited to be working with several new faces and contributors. I love these opportunities to know and comminicate with fellow creators. This is one of the reasons I have so enjoyed group collaborations over the years. It's beautiful to have a network of people that have similar interests... I feel like I can cut the small talk and dive directly into the subject. Randi Toth will be doing makeup, and Ryan from El Ningen will be second shooting. Tess with be Michelles personal assist (Okanagan Photography) . I love love love doing projects where a second shooter is present. I think its so important to have a contrast in perspectives in the room...Everyone see's things differently. Michelle always has a second shooter with her. I love that also because I find it so nice to have a large team to communicate with and build strong conceptual images with. When it comes to these kinds of projects, the more the merrier. <3
Lexy shared her model portfolio with me several months ago. I was amazed. She has this ability to appear so elegant and sophisticated no matter what. It blows my mind. I went with a bit of a mid-century feel, with the length, and the creating of the bottom of the dress. I wanted to bring a soft and elegant palet to match her vibrant bold black hair. I worked with a variety of greens and off whites to portray the soft and elegant look.
I am looking forward to exploring the possibilities of working with this full length piece, as it is one of very few long pieces in my collection. I've been thinking over the idea of doing more as the line continues. I'd love some feedback...whats your preference?
Stay tuned for behind the scenes photos!
