January 17
It's approximately 2:30 pm.
It's Tuesday, but it feels more like Monday to me because Jamie's off on Monday's right now and we've been enjoying that day together.
It's beautifully sunny out but brisk at the same time.
Forecast says 3 degrees but it feels more like -1 or -2 to me.
I've got cute, sleepy dogs around me. Zoey is catching rays in the living room. Jax is keeping cool on the hardwood floor. They're doing well together. There's a large difference in size between the two of them and it's only growing, so it's great for them to get to know each other while they're both nice and young.

It's approximately 8:35 am.
It's Thursday morning.
It's looking like it's going to be an absolutely gorgeous day.
The sun is peaking up through the trees. It's a beautiful background view here, where I am at the end of the dining room table, looking out into the street and neighborhood through the large front windows.
The light that comes in through those windows throughout the day is remarkable.
So warm, and bright, casting light into the room from different angles all throughout the day.
I just did a small interval of puppy training.,
Over the past few days Mya has been here to participate as well. She is very well trained and a great influence for Jax to learn from.
Jax is learning basic commands., He knows his name, come, and he's doing awesome at learning to sit.
Zoey is working on patience and waiting for her turn.
She's so tiny but so highly food motivated.
They're all still warming up to the new routine.
I think they're doing amazing.
I'm scheduled to work later on today, in the afternoon.
I'm excited to go in. I usually just have a couple shifts each week. I find that keeps things fresh and exciting, workwise.
I found a couple neat books out thrifting a month or two ago...., they are tear outs, composed of quotes and words of inspiration, encouragement and perspective. I've been tearing them out and taking them with me to work. Adding to the pin board as I remember.
I stopped temporarily, partially out of forgetfulness.
I was reminded during my last shift by one of my friends/coworkers about them. She asked if I would be bringing more. I didn't realize others were reading them and potentially finding perspective or inspiration through them. I was enlightened by the question. I think I reassured her I would bring more.
I don't often spend a lot of time in the staff room when I go in. I'm mostly out on the floor.
I have realized though, if I am in the back, and in that room, the eyes naturally seem to be drawn to the quotes and the information. I've reread them multiple times.
Each read and ponder both requires and provides thoughtfulness.
I had time to look through the book yesterday and tore out 7 more to add to the board this afternoon.
It's a small, simple thing I've been doing that helps me feel encouraged and hopeful. Information is power. There's a reason quotes are quotes. I feel as though they are often big concepts in small formats. I love dialogue and words that really cause the mind to think.
My initial goal was to add a new sheet each time I have a shift.
It hasn't worked out that way so far but the feedback provided has reminded me of the relevance and importance of the task.
I'm excited to add more to the board this afternoon.
To end todays writings, I'd like to briefly go back to the topic on natural sun light and it's wonder.
I shared a few pictures of recent moments spent in wonder of light and it's beauty and power.
Different room/space, same mesmerizing sunrays.
