There's a girl I know. I've known her since before I can remember.
She is looking for a way to slow the world down. Life is passing by in front of her too quickly. She fears she ll loose the moments before she even realizes she had them. She's looking to freeze time. She wants to experience timelessness as much as possible, for as long as she can. She is searching for a place where she feels free to do so. She lives in the now and gives it large importance in her life. I know a lot of girls like this honestly. A lot of whom are very close friends of mine. I appreciate the awareness that life is short, and worry could kill us just as quickly and easily as anything else. Right now is primetime. We don't believe anything is coincidence. Everything is destiny. Everything has purpose.
It's an awesome way to live.. except for when it comes to planning for the future. Short term planning is something I feel I've really practiced this year. Countless short term projects and goals consistantly developing into projects, collaborations, and projects. Long term plans though, seem to be harder for me to visualize. I've challenged myself to do some into-the-future planning. I've found it harder than intitially antisipated to do. A five or ten year plan for example. That seems so far away to me.
One way that I've attempted to open my mind to a larger and more longterm plan is by looking back on the past two years. Even just the compilation of my work in the modelling/fashion industry in the past two years speaks very loudly to me about the power of planning. The compilation of shortterm projects and plans has quickly developed into something massive. If I were to build a web of intentions, goals, and deadlines, imagine how efficiently my plans and goals would be understood. My new shortterm goal is to have a longterm goal by the new year. Wish me luck <3
