The Balance Of Business

It could be just coincidence that I don't mind my online or "tech" time. Accustomed to the internet since before 5th grade, I feel quite familiar with the internet and how to use it. I've experimented with a variety of methods of research and information gathering. I did this both to find resources, and also to figure out the most efficient way of researching. When I need to know things, I often need to know them fast. I love my set-aside time in the day just for blogging/writing/sharing thoughts. I love wrapping up my bog posts with colorful content and images that give readers a powerful experience.
The more I get into the swing of working for myself, by myself, the more I realize balance is going to be a really important part of my routine as an entrepreneur. I wake up full of excitement, and go to be not ready to. I can't do all that I want to in a day. I can't reach all the people I want to, or write all the photo shoot blurbs that I need to. I need to pick the most important, most urgent things that need doing, and try to squish as much creative incentive on top of that as possible. Phone calls make life easier. I find in moments, a phone call has resolved hours of my research. The more I look into new ideas and opportunities, the more I find myself drawn to the telephone.
A little update on some of my upcoming and current doings:
I had a few open days this week, I was happy to use to add new content to the website and respond to some client emails, etc. Instead I was able to be part of team of models walking '"She Lingerie" down the catwalk at Standard Nightclub around 10 pm. Hence my open days were filled with fittings and rehearsals. I am really happy to be involved with another local business here in Calgary. She Lingerie really impressed me because they actually stocked my bandwidth which is size 30. 32 is usually the smallest I can find, but with cup size in mind, 34 is what is usually available to me. Because it is too big, all the weight subsides to the shoulders forming an enormous pressure that feels like a pinched nerve. For a long time, I didn't know what was causing the pain. I really appreciate She lingerie urge to really fit the figure. I hope this is the begin of a plentiful working relationship.
Over 10 photo shoot projects this month, and more to come! The first piece of my brand new collection was shot a few weeks ago, my conceptual project series was started, model recruitment & fittings began, and countless figure model sessions. Its been fabulous to monitor and watch the industry grow and expand almost daily. April will bring forth my first workshop since Calgary. It will be awesome to meet so many photographers in bulk. The networking is endless. I am happy to announce however, I have established a few core photographers who I find the planning/shooting process very effortless with. The photos from our sets are always spectular. I plan with these photographers regularly, on an ongoing basis. I am currently seeking my core makeup artists as well. I have 1 or 2 already. The artistic potential here is infinite.
Lots going on as you can see but as April comes, I will be doing tighter observations of my business techniques, and more finite goal planning. As busy as March was and is I wish more for April.
