Last summer I spent as much time as I could get my hands on finding and shooting all the outdoor locations I could find. Kelowna was like a treasure chest for scenery. Every time I took the time to venture out I would find something absolutely visually stunning. As warmth returns to Calgary I feel I need to push myself to find those beautiful landscapes while I'm here. The winter season yielded more studio photo shoots than I could have ever imagined, and all the inside time really fuels me for the summer.

As I put together more and more pieces to fill my etsy shop, I will be dual shooting! This is so very exciting, because they dynamic of 2 models in the same frame is so complex, compared to just the singular face/figure. A lot of the pieces in the collection are composed of the same fabrics. How many models are needed per shoot is dependent on how many pieces pertain the same fabrics.

The shoot below is a set from last year. Conor Teahen photographed and scouted the location. Madison Cook and I modeled. Bikinis are Dolce & Gabbanna, wardrobe provided by a stylist friend of mine. This shoot is very special to me because it showcases how models can work together to create something beautiful beyond an average image.

I've started a new mini-series for my designs. It's focused around a color. The color is a blueish/turquise. In gratitude of hot days and summer, I am creating a series of summertime tops, specifically for the hottest summer days. I feel really inspired by this project. It has pushed me to really think about the dynamics of clothing.. What we are used to, and what is acceptable, versus what is beautiful, and what is new and artistic.

I greatly enjoyed making my first behind the scenes video a little less than a week ago. Since then, I've shot 2 more projects, and am working to convert them to BTS fun clips too. I love looking back on the projects and watching the process in between. Its so fun to be able to clip back to the laughs and dance parties that happen on set. I've captured some moments I'm lucky to have had. Video footage seems to make me more appreciative of the moments. Repeating the best moments highlights the memory in my mind. The constant reminder of the activity and the feeling of the activity is a constant uplift. I plan to continue with my video footage with an open mind. I'm excited to see where it travels. You can see my first BTS video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8F653Nbl1pE&feature=youtu.be

I'm out of town with Michael for the weekend! Strictly family affairs: no business! I'll be back on Calgary on monday, ready for a fresh week of creativity!
