A walk in the park at Spruce Meadows

It was almost two weeks ago now, Aaron of addictedtodistraction.com and myself met up at Spruce Meadows for a walk in the park and a soft and airy shoot. The wind was active and steady, but the sun was warm enough to over contrast the cool winds.

During my last vacation in Arizona I had found a beautiful vintage styled cocktail dress that " just happened" to be on the sales rack. I shot this dress as soon as I returned to Calgary, but the fabulous "film noir" shoot style and makeup artist brought the shoot to a whole different thematic level. The dress appeared more as an accessory than the main piece, which is fabulous because it means that I can wear it again.

I've shot with Aaron on an ongoing basis since I first arrived in Calgary. Aaron also loves to make films. I've had friends in the film industry and have always enjoyed that kind of work equally, as I have modelling. I love the idea of becoming a persona outside of myself. Ironically, my first spoken role in film lined up very much with my true character. It was easy for me to express each characteristic of the role because I felt as though that character truly was me.

The past week has been filled with more figure modelling sessions than I can ever remember doing in such a short interval of time. Its amazing to see how lively and engaging the art world can be. I'm hoping that a bushel of slower days might allow me to catch up on posting sets I've received but not had time to post in proper galleries, as well as a few informative blog posts.
