Last week I met Karyn Lee! What a pleasant surprise it was. She drove far without any complaint at all, to meet me in the bush across the street from my house. The location is very plentiful to me. It seems no matter which way you turn there is nothing but photo opportunity. The past week of solid rain made the shrubs and grass really lush and a deep deep green. We had to reschedule our project a few times due to thunderstorms warnings and hail. I'm so glad we were able to persevere through the unstable weather, because the Friday afternoon we met up was sunny, stable, and fabulous.
Karyn is from High River, where she is a very successful full-time photographer. I've never been there, but am excited and prepared to go there to shoot with Karyn and scope outside of my normal travel zones. Every time I venture around the SW area I am baffled to see the abundance of beautiful scenic gems in the area. I can't help but wonder what hidden treasure can be found in the other parts of the city and surrounding areas.
We started out pretty chatty. I had lots of questions about her, and what brought about her success in the photography business. It was amazing to be able to collaborate with a photographer with such a business minded attitude. Within moments of the photo taking process, Karyn had won my total trust. With every pose changed, Karyn Bounced around the forest catching different angles with every click.
The land of photography is still very foreign to me, but I have learned that some of the best photos can come from the best angles, and also moments. As I looked through the finished set I was amused to find many "moments" perfectly captured. No doubt in my mind this characteristic is part of what makes Karyn a professional. I love the fresh and finished feel to the photos, and I love her signature logo at the bottom.
I will be collaborating with Karyn, along with Heather Paige of Obsidian Artistry and Cianna Johnson as model later on this week. I will be providing a piece of my floral collection as part of the wardrobe for the project. I am really excited for the progression of this project as there are many talented contributors involved that I feel will really bring this project to vivid character. No doubt in my mind the finished photos will be of significant wonder and beauty.
I hope you enjoy the first project between Karyn Lee and Myself.
There will be several more to come!
I sure did.
