August Rush

I feel like a bit of a sleepy girl this eve, none the less I have deadlines that sleep cannot get in the way of. I can't believe so many days have slipped by since my last blog. Looking into August I had hoped to continue to collaborate with names I have yet to work with here in Calgary and the surrounding area. My hope was to continue to expand and to emphasize the details of the project : fashion/wardrobe elements in particular.

August has blown my average shoot per month count out of the water. This has been both a dramatic blessing and adjustment. On top of the increase in shooting for August I've felt as though I can't pull myself away from my sewing machine. I usually work away on the computer in the craft room, but lately I'm more preoccupied cutting fabric into a new pair of undies and free-sketching the basics of what fashion means to me.

I made a basic top/undies set last week from a 94% polyester fabric. I fell in love with the way it feels on my body. People have commented on the look of its comfort through photos. It has a definitely comfortable but also presently sexy feel. I posted a photo of it on my IG. You can see photos of it on my profile: sunray_suzie . I felt really inspired after slipping into this piece and realizing yet again how achievable it is to create comfortable, well made, fashionable garments.

My hope is that the end of August and the month of September will provide me the time and coordination talents to shoot all the newest pieces. By the end of September there will be more new pieces yet again, and I want to be able to upload fresh content to the ETSY account as well.

The last ten days of August bring forth many art focused projects, including a lot of client work. I also have a highly creative collaboration planned which will take place underwater. It's amazing to be able to experiment with so many different themes/locations/styles/fashions.
