Krystal Cooper & The Big Rock

Last week I drove out to Big Rock to meet up with Krystal Cooper (photography). Some of her work had caught my eye earlier this month and I thought it was stunning. I absolutely had to get in touch with her. The red color of the rock seemed foreign to Calgary. To me it looks more like something you'd see in AZ.

I arrived before our anticipated meet up time. She was promptly there in the parking lot, waiting for me. This collaboration was one of my first that took place during rain fall. I don't think the rain was falling quick or vivid enough to be captured in the photos. The unpredictable wind and rain caused use to be high efficient and fast. We captured the whole set in about an hour flat.

I loved shooting with Krystal. She was in a constant state of movement all throughout our shoot. Every time I moved, she moved. I love to see that in a photographer. Her attitude to was super outgoing and positive. She was full of insightful feedback and glowing smiles. Time flew. A couple poses on the rocks, a couple poses in the grass, and the night was upon us. As much as it can be a gamble to shoot in stormy weather, the overcast sky that comes with that weather can be more than worth the gamble to me.

From the first bunch, the grey top is the only piece that was designed & handcrafted by me. This top is composed of a soft yet firm grey elastic entwined fabric. I inserted an elastic band to distinguish shape and fit. The straps are braided to create a visually pleasing effect. The color is solid as I find solid to be soft and simple. It does not distract from the shape of the form, and the grey color appears quite elegant and feminine.

My design from this group is the architecturally inspired 1 piece being showcased. I combined black fabric with a multi-brown patterned fabric. The 1 piece is very couture and form fitted. I feel the colors match the scenery very well and with great intention. One thing I really appreciate about this piece is the originality of it, and the beauty of the fit . I installed an elastic waistband in the bottoms of the 1 piece to insure it didn't sway out at the hips. I then attached black elastic bands (thin strips) where needed, to insure the piece would stay in place (over the breasts especially).

From this group, my design in the 2 piece casual lingerie set. This set is perhaps one of my favorites to date. The fabric hugs the body in all the right ways. The light purple (violet) tone is both comfortable and flexible. It can stretch and warm to the form. The fabric has a light and soft feeling. I went with a simple low cut for the top as sometimes casual is best. At the end of the day I'm most often tired of the restricting straps and wiring. I'm looking for something both comfortable and sexy; Something wearable and functional; something soft and simple, but still stunning,

Wrapping up August and coming into September I am forging ahead full speed with many requests on behalf of custom orders. I spend any spare time focusing on different underwear & bra sets as well as gala gowns. I believe their is a massive market in "comfortable sexy". I'm excited to explore it in more vivid detail.
