First of all, literally. Last week was Calgary's first snow day. I'm sure everyone noticed. It snowed for a couple hours without halt. I wished I wasn't out and about when it happened. I had a bit of anxiety towards the first snow as it seems that everyone forgets to drive on that day. Nonetheless I witnessed no accidents whilst driving and the snow mixed with the yellows of the fall trees was absolutely stunning. I'm lucky to have seen it but sad it see it go so fast.

I've been practically locked away in the place where I sew things. Inspired by the cool air of winter I've taken off with warmer and thicker fabrics for coats/dresses/winter wear. As part two of the set shot by Danielle Nicol, I've decided to focus in completely on the jacket.

So here we go, below is a fairly large selection of photos showcasing the jacket from all kind of angles and perspectives. One of the many things I love about this couture piece is the many different ways it can be worn. Bundled and done up, or thrown down and casual resting on the shoulders. This jacket has character, and this jacket is made to fit.

I feel blessed to spend time creating and capturing with Danielle Nicol. Her unceasing will to be artistic and express is highly inspiring to me. I look forward to what make come for us before I venture back to BC for maybe just one semester. It's fun to live in the moment. I wouldn't change it for anything.

UNRELATED:

The larger part of my day was spent making body casts. I've never done this before but have wanted to for about a half a year. In a sense, I feel like I can freeze time for a moment. Freeze a part, freeze a shape, something that will soon become a memory. I loved every minute of it. I came out of it with a chest piece that I'm pondering building off of. I'd like to mount it in my home, one day soon when I have my own home.

Tomorrow is an exciting an adventurous day full of photo taking, pr, and product capturing. I cannot wait to shoot some of my newest lingerie sets that have been pending this very project. Sometimes my product goes through a pending period where I hold it back from public view until I can get proper shots of it. I've found some very talented artists right here in the city, and I feel blessed and put in a position where I feel I don't need to settle for less then exactly what both want from the set.

Sunday will be the 3rd of 5 sessions of long posing at Midlake Art Studio. I'll be there all month on thursdays and sundays. If you are interested in drawing/painting/sketching ongoing studies, this class is the place to be. The studio is warm and spacious. The crowd is cheery and dedicated. I'm happy to spend a bit of time there throughout the week and have been even more thrilled to see many inspiring local artists drop by to take part of the sessions. If your interested in attending or want to learn more, send me a message.
