Started off the morning with a solid 2 hours of research & work dedicated to the SEO settings of my website & relabelling info to be more readable and understandable to google. This type of work can appear both tedious and inefficient because it cannot/will not be seen by the public, or at least not in a way they will notice or find relevent. According to my research, adding more descriptive and meaningful titles to my photos allow google to be able to put the photo into matching and corrosponding cateogories. Time and evidence will prove whether or not this theory is true.
I spent what I consider to be a large amount of time in the sewing room over the past few weeks. About a week away from Florida, I'm feeling good about my goals for completion of outfits pre-trip. I've dipped into the darker color palets such as black, navy blue, and ruby red with hopes of portraying more mood in the months to follow which require heavier fabrics, thicker layers, and more coverage. I love the learning process that the winter season has brought forward so far.
I look forward to seeing more and more of my designs on models and socialites as my clothing, brand, and mission gain more traction. Towards the end of this month my designs will be featured on an Agency model and shot by one of my most favorite photographers in the city (Jen Freedman) . This is one of many projects that I am happy to be a part of. I've found my role in the creative world has shifted as I have become more aware of my passion for design. When working with other collaborators I love to stylize, and provide wardrobe. If I have the time/availability to be present at the shoot, I like to do BTS filming & photos. Because of the time of year and business fluidity however, most commonly I meet with the shoot coordinator/ model for a fitting outside of shoot time to ensure all fits properly & flows for the photos.
Last month I was super duper excited to do a fitting with Tatiana Sarah. She messaged me an update to inform me she will be shooting her sets with a photographer from Toronto. I love working with her as she has so much drive and ambition. I've had thoughts and been brought ideas about sewing for the workout/gym society. This is something I will continue to think about and if I do decided to experiment with this type of sportswear I think I already know who to ask to test it out for me ;) (Tatiana).
This month has been crammed full of posing & designing, and apart from my vacation to Florida next week, I anticipate November to be the same. Extra spaces fill quickly as I am approached by ambitious creators and artists that have visions they know they can count on me to contribute towards if I say I will. It's been beautiful to understand how word travels, and how a reputation for a good work ethic comes back to the source.
As I continue to think about public vending, I find and gather tools that I think will make my stand "stand out" and catch the attention of the average event attendee. I've gathered bags, boxes, and the appropriate size table for my booth. The tools and gadgets are coming to me quickly and the timing for my first vending event could be soon. I am excited as time proceeds and my stock line grows. What used to be simply a collection of lingerie has blossomed into a full wardrobe of pants, dresses, tops, and jackets.
For Now,
"Harm none, do as you will".
Possible thoughts & hopes to you.
