So Much New

December has started out cold & fast. I don't think I've seen any weather above -10 since the months start. I'd be lying if I said the mix of the coldness & darkness of the winter month wasn't a complete downer to me. The nippy air bites at my bones and they ache out in resentment towards it. My cold breath turns white in wind and quickly spirals into seemingly frozen skies. Yesterdays fluffy white snow on the ground has now turns slick and Icy. 104 accidents in Calgary reported between 4-8 pm on this mornings news. Even I, for a brief moment, felt the adrenaline of a close call yesterday around noon as I felt my breaks scrape continuously along what sounded like the pavement of the road, doing nothing to stop my car from moving. I drifted slowly towards the vehicle ahead of me, gaining traction with the pavement before anything severe had time to happen.

Lots of packing in the midst as Mike & I merge into our last month in Calgary. I'm excited to head back to BC. I've felt the strain of the big city life the last few weeks and it exhausts me. I miss the laid back and relaxing vibes of the Okanagan. I miss the private beach accesses & I miss all the Blenz that don't franchise here. It's extremely satisfying to know that in just a few short weeks we will be there.

Last weekend I took a chance and tried a new thing. Upon noticing several Christmas Market I applied to be part of one that took place Dec.2-3. I wanted to have a chance to showcase my collection to the public in a real place where I could receive real feedback about it. I'm back in the studio today feeling inspired and refreshed to have received opinions about my collection that are not my own.

Moving into the month of December I have a few significant commercial shoots planned. 80 % of whats on my inventory rack right now is not photographically represented. A big reason for this is because a lot of the stock is very new. I also like to keep the genres as so. Shooting 1 genre at a time allows me to put more insight and thought into the project. As the freezing weather makes me crave coffee, huttubs, and warmth, the studio feels more soothing and calming than ever. It becomes easier for me to spend time in here than ever before (not that it ever was.)

I've been feeling like the website is in need of a few updates including a few new tabs in the design section. I plan to start a new tab focused around restructuring pre-existing garments into transformed/refurbished/recycled pieces. Keep an eye out for that one.

I can't believe I've never uploaded this set. (what a treat)
