Year end wrap up

Its been two days since Mike and I arrived in Kelowna and we have been busy busy busy getting settled in. Mike found us the most amazing & spacious place, and I'm about a 1/2 a day away from having my new studio space set up & ready to go. I've been itching to get back behind the sewing machine. I pre-cut several tops and day-to-day wear before packing up and hitting the road. I am beyond excited to take those designs and transform them into wearable pieces.
The weather has been cool & mucky which has been a bit of a downfall. Kelowna continues to be beautiful regardless, but I find the cool weather much harder to get up and around in. I'm not sure how many days prior to our arrival it snowed, but by the time we arrived the ground was already brown and soppy. Slippery and no longer new, its not as fun to look at or get around in. In solution to this problem, for the first time EVER in my career, I have full time access to an indoor studio space. Over the next few days I plan to familiarize myself with the lighting and studio set up. I have all kinds of plans for advertising & promoting brand wear that revolve around this studio.
Below I am showcasing one of my newest and most recently received sets from Sleepy Mongrel Photography. Glam and Beyond did the makeup for this set and I posted it in the 2016 second interval portfolio tab for Calgary. I loved working on this set and shooting my newest designs. I've felt the inspiring winds of Kelowna flow over my shoulders and I anticipate a collection developing over the next 4 months that will be absolutely un-explainable.
As New Years approaches I look forward to a calm and reflective evening filled with good food, wine, and tactical thought that will lay a firm and positive foundation for the new year. I dove into the past year so quickly I often wonder if I took the time necessary to really reflect on my decisions and choices. I feel the desire to focus more on what resonates with me than what is acceptable/necesary to the standards of others.
