Sweet February

Thankful for the weekend, I am amazed to look at the calendar and see that it is already the 4th! With a weekend full of shoots planned, I look forward to feeling freed by creativity and the natural beauty of outdoor nature (regardless of the cold). I'm not sure if I've discussed this before or not on the blog, but during my current interval in BC I've accepted a 4 month contract. Although my role has many creative aspects, it's main focus is not. I appreciate many aspects of this contract and position and I feel I have learned a lot within a small amount of time.

In the studio I am making a list of what I feel is most important to complete in priority sequence. I'm ready for a new business card. I usually order my cards from vista print. They seem to offer the best deals and their sidebar discounts at the checkout always get me. I'm a sucker for a 70 % deductible. I'd like to think we all are. Last night I came home from work with feelings that one of my regular spin-off fabric stores might have some new fabrics for me to be inspired from (and buy). Awesome Michael agreed to drive me across town to follow up on that instinct, and I was happy to find a couple new yards of some amazing new colors that I cannot wait to shape into fabulous clothes.

Honestly and openly, I feel myself toppling over into a more candid/real/motion-filled advertising format. Focusing on instagram, I'm pushing to showcase the wear-ability and functionality factor of the pieces I create. As much as I do love to dive into a more costume based product that holds no purpose behind the limelight and stage, I like to be comfortable, warm, and confident in what I wear everyday, and I've been working continuously over the past year to bring that collection to life. If you haven't check out my instagram, you can find it here on the blog or directly via my username : sunray_suzie. Sometimes I post premium photos there that I don't showcase on my website at all!

The new year has brought forth all kinds of inspiring feelings and emotions that frankly I am still grasping to understand. I feel and see the world changing around me, and in correspondence I seek to find what works best and most efficiently from a business perspective.

Below I've posted a few photos that reflect a bit more on the candid/relaxed shooting style I want to continue to shoot & build off of.

Thanks for stopping in <3
