Post Birthday Feelings

I'm pulling out a secret and revealing I turned 24 on friday, in the afternoon ish.

In the past, birthdays had a tendency to be quite melancholy and quite the opposite of a celebration to me. This years birthday had a different feeling and appreciation. I gained a better understanding of what makes me who I am, and hence a better understanding of where I can (continue to) go. Yesterday I attended the Livesense class at Rotary Centre For the Arts for the first time. I modelled for the class which ran from 10 am to 12 30 pm. The room was filled panorama style all around my posing podium, which was back by the outer studio wall. Having a back wall is a sort of luxury as it allows poses that might not be suitable for full circle view. I know from classroom experience that usually the podium is in the middle of the class, and students can position their desks at any space they prefer in the circle format. I ll be heading to Vernon in a couple days for another class at the Vernon Art Gallery. Its just over the hill to me and I am happy to support the art community in any community I am given the chance to be a part of. Last Friday I was back at Yeti Farm Creative for a second class. I was really happy to be there and time absolutely flowed.

Not knowing that Monday was a holiday until last saturday, I've filled the calendar day with studio and shoot time. I've made new things and I've bought new fabrics. Everything is fluid. Old connections have turned up with the most perfect sense of timing, and new connections have stemmed that reassure me I am in the right place at the right time.

Before I loose my chance: Happy Valentines Day! You can only guess who my valentine is this year ( you can if you want to...).

I didn't make this jacket but I love it. Today I woke up -8. After about a week of -10 or colder, I started searching for something practical and wearable. It keeps me warmer than I've ever been.
