Happy Sunday.
I'm in a network phase right now. Honestly I'm on the spin out. I've been at the screen for a couple hours now, planning, configuring, searching, confirming, and connecting. I've decided that 2017 is a spectacular year. The constant back and forth has hit me like a breath of fresh air. I feel both challenged and relieved for the opportunity to break outside of my usual space and be a more fluid version of myself. I find the change of space inspiring, and the variety in city size thought provoking.
I've found eventbrite to be a pretty cool website for keeping up with social events and activities. One downfall I've found about it is that often events are not listed on the site until just weeks before the event. This time interval does not leave a lot of space for involvement.
I've done the math and realized that about exactly 2 months from now Mike and I will be all packed up and saying Outtie 5000 to Kelowna once again. Its amazing to me how quickly time sneaks up and away.
Sadly the city of Kelowna woke up to snow again. weather like this sets me and my art photography clients back as the cold brisk wind and fresh snow are brisk and cool and strain the body. As I've gained insight that I will be spending winter of 2017 in Kelowna, I've already begun to put thought to solutions and alternatives for shoots so that the weather won't factor into the process. I've had quite a few thoughts of travelling further outside of my current BC zones of Kelowna, Penticton, and Vernon. I feel that If I open the doors of my business to the Vancouver area I may form some connections of depth and resignation.
As time progresses and I continue to reflect and monitor the fashion world and my place with in it, I become very aware of the constant modifications and changes that inflict the industry momentarily, and what my place within those changes might be. The passing of time collectively has taught me that creativity is a commitment. A personal commitment I made in 2013, if not before, to myself, to always look to art as a means of expression and a way to convey a deeper emotion and sense of soulfulness.
