Just flew in to Vancouver after a busy day of driving. Mike and I had just enough time to pack up a couple carry-ons and hop into the hottub before heading to the airport for a wedding. The flight was smooth, simple, and on time. There was a drama/horror show which kept me more than satisfied, along with my sketchpad which I'm finding really helps pass the time. We got off the plane to the most beautiful warm sunny weather.

It feels strange to be far from my studio since the day before yesterday. I did my best to back-stock for client requests for the time I would be away. I've spent loads of time sketching out new designs and concepts that have been filling my mind. It's been a nice and exciting couple days as I start to fill May dates with photo shoots and plans to meet up with artistic folk. My favorite types of meetings.

This morning is a bit of a tech morning as time proceeds and Mike and I get ready to board a plane back to Calgary. From blogging, to research, to website updates, my hands and mind have been quite busy this morning. It's been a sort of weekend off the radar; Extended family events and matters that deserved my full attention. No shoots or model works for a couple days is enough to really get me going. I feel super motivated heading into this new week. First shoot of May booked in for tomorrow <3 Calgary really seems to represent the land of opportunity to me. I see so many different routes and paths of means to make money and thrive in the big city. I see so much creativity and passion.

I focus intently on my personal goals and desires for the next 4 months as I realize, my future is in my own two hands. Not quite coming up on a full year of sewing, I reflect on the doors and opportunities sewing has opened for me. I feel more warm, comfortable, and confident in my work every time I go back into my sewing studio. Every time I finish a piece I learn and grow from it. As my collection compiles I explore the idea of pitching my pieces to specific niche vendors and/or local merchants. The more there is, the more there seems to be. The more you look for, the more you shall find.

I feel that these next four months are going to be very special, fulfilling and satisfying. I feel calm and content as I prepare to fly back into the core of the big city. I feel confident that all kinds of good things are coming. I'm excited as I begin to imagine what some of these good things might present themselves as/be. I'm also excited to carry this positive vibration forward and share it will my creative community.

Today's photo credit is to Conor Teahen. This swimsuit is one of my newer builds. I still have a few more relative structures to build from this fabric, and then it will be onto the next one.
