Warm August

Today I feel the day has a jump start on me. It's an unfamiliar feeling. So often I can remember and relate to feeling like I'm up early, on the ball, ticking errands off my list. Today I feel I add more errands than I check. Such is life I guess. On the packing side of things I've got two rooms 1/2 packed. I'll need to pick up some new packing boxes. Unexpectedly I used most of what we used to get here for various crafts you may see around the house (if you visit).

I am soon to be 1/2 way through this months promotional contract. I admit I was extremely anxious and somewhat worried about taking on a role outside of my usual realm of work. It's been refreshing to step outside that frame and understand just 1 more of the many different varieties of work that exist. I'm grateful for the experience and the chance to meet new creative people.

Yesterday my talented photographer friend Sam and I took a trip out to Bragg Creek for a creative shoot. It's the last time I will see her before she leaves for her trip to Europe! I've sent some of my designs along with her as she will be shooting with many photographers in the time frame that are interested in fashion focused photos. Bragg creek was a soft shimmering green. The most reflected off the sun and always, I was happily captivated.

I've received a few sets back over the past few days that I wasn't expecting! That's always fun. The sets are fashion focused. And location focused. Jess at Lichon Photography has begun sending me photos from our Dinosaur Park shoot. They are so fun to look at and share. I will be uploading both the sets to my 2017 Calgary Portfolio Tab before I leave this coffee shop. I promise.

Dinosaur Park was spectacular. I don't know when the last time was that I went somewhere that made me feel like I wasn't really on earth. Going with Jess was definitely one of the best choices I could have made. She was like a kid in a candy store! Eyes wide and a smile as far as you could see. The rocks twisted and curved in ways we d never seen before. Despite the various tourist that walked around the rock formations and paths, there were no footprints. Fascinating stuff!

Below I've featured a few of my favorites from the set I did with Jen Freedman earlier this summer.

We're both hoping and planning for at least 1 more concept before I leave the city. I'm really excited about it.
