Holy has it been a fluid month. Time has proceeded me and I am shocked to observe the date to be the 28th already. At this rate, I'm taking every opportunity I can to enjoy and appreciate my time here.
I've decided to contribute some of my time and effort to a local eco sustaining company that needs extra hands during their busy season. I've enjoyed meeting numerous individuals in the vicinity that have also chosen to dedicate their time to this vision. It's been cool and eye-opening to me to meet and do my best to understand people of all walks of life, from all places. I've been overwhelming happy and curious to meet and form a friendship with each and everyone of them. I find great joy in connecting with people. I realize that although there may be many external differences between us, we share bone structure, human nature, and the ability to be kind and laugh with one another.
In the design room: I've finished my first white piece. A beautiful white gown that I hope to shoot in October. I've got a top of the same color on the mannequin.. something a little more in the every-day/ wearable department.
On the craft table: I've been doing some leaf drying/pressing. This summer I've felt my eyes have been opened more than ever to the beauty of nature that is all around me. I want not, to forget the beauty of this place as the weather changes and the green that is currently all around disappears. I've been pressing, preserving, stenciling, and framing. I grab a single leaf of a tree and marvel in its obscene beauty and structure. To think there are more leaves on that tree than I can count. To think one day those leaves will all be gone.
Since today is an open creative day, I'll be doing a small supply stock. I've got a small list of things I feel I need to keep the production in the craft/creative area going, up to speed.
I look optimistically to October as I note many classes and modelling events. I may have to schedule in some simple relax time as the months proceed as my "free" time here has become less, but I know it is a priority. I've realized art is therapy to me. A warm, simple, quiet medium that allows me to create freely and relax in more ways than I count.

I left a little bundle of designs with her in Calgary to shoot/create with. I love watching her photography portfolio widen and am absolutely stoked to be a part of it. Model credit to Tessa T!
