It's absolutely crazy, the rate at which October is passing by in front of me. I feel like I've grabbed onto a tiny string that is pulling me faster than I can configure, through the entire month so far. Doing my best to make the most of my spare time, I am currently preparing for the winter markets. Since arriving in Lake Country I've assembled a great mix of canned fruit, candles, and soap, all handmade. I've also started on a line of botanical science pieces. These pieces are showcased in frames (mostly in my home until I decide where else I might want to focus them). It's been spectacular to be able to collect and monitor fragments of nature and learn how they respond and react to different conditions/temperatures/settings.

I've constructed most of my previously died purple fabric and I felt it was time for some more dying. I think I have 1 more purple piece to shape. Also I've got a pink dress that's 90% finished. I'm excited to give it it's final touches and call it done. I've gained access to a wide assortment of fabric that I plan to dedicate almost entirely to dying. Last nights set was green based. Fabrics are currently drying and I plan to shape/create garments from them as soon as they've dried. As a momentum of the crafty and cold evening, much of the green dye has stuck to my hands. I look like the hulk in the hands as I prepare for the days figure drawing class :/ I hope the students don't mind.

The cold weather is coming, this afternoon I spent a fair amount of time watching leaves fall from the trees. The wind was fierce and loud, and may times throughout the afternoon there was thunder. It's amazing how the seasons change around here.

As it gets cooler I focus more on shooting inside. I'm interested in doing some shoots pertaining to some of the art I've been creating. It's definitely something worth spending some time to think about.

Almost 2/3 through the month, times speed amazes me the past few weeks.

On another note, I've been searching for some new and inspiring female vocals.

A favorite that I found this year is Charlotte Cardin. She is from Montreal.

Also on the list are:

Hey Violet

RAYE

Bishop Briggs

Sam Hartman

Sam Bruno

Sabrina Carpenter

Mary Lambert

This fun photo was taken on my iphone with a ringlight in Calgary after my talented friend at House Of Ruby Rouge did my makeup <3
