The darkness of the season seems endless but the calendar tells me otherwise. I am so excited for the winter equinox which is just 4 days away. I've never celebrated this holiday with such direct interest before but this year, I feel dedicated to learning about it. I don't recall ever feeling the lack of sunlight in such a deep and chilling level. It's so satisfying to know the light is coming and will soon be all around us once again. Have you ever heard of Yule? Know anything about it? I'm still learning but I am very fascinated by it.

Shooting this month has been challenging as I find I'm not the only one whose been bit by the winter bug ;). It's understandable. Plans are made but with the constantly changing weather and constant darkness everything is really subject to change this time of year. Again, my faith is restored in the fact that more light is coming. soon it will be here; brighter days, beautiful sunsets. It is all coming.

In attempts to make way for the warmer weather I've been working habitually on my summer collection. It's exciting to look and plan ahead to a time that will soon arrive. I've found a lot of pleasure in crafting summer tops. I love making them, each one different and stunning in its own way. This past year I've felt myself especially drawn to the water and I feel as though this fad is not soon to change. I hope to carry it with me into the new year, and with that in mind, much of what I am making is water-friendly.

Conor and I were able to put our heads together and find a fantastic location for shooting when it's really cold. He sent me the finished set last week and I was so happy with the outcome of our creativity. I don't shoot inside often anymore. I find it makes the indoor shoots that much more exciting and awesome to add to the portfolio.

I hope its clear that my love and dedication is to nature, and I love to surround myself in it and capture it via photograph. When I feel the conditions are too harsh, its fantastic to have alternative locations to pick from. Over the past few months I've been inspired and currently have a few locations in mind that are inside and are seriously awesome but my ultimate hope is that the weather will permit for me to still stand in it and shoot. haa. Windchill is nasty out there sometimes.

My designs focuses are somewhat elaborate at this point in time. I like the idea of having multiple pieces and looks that can go together and be warn in unison on multiple models to showcase how colors and styles can align to create a blending collection. I've got a list of keywords noted as I put the pieces together, ensuring that all the pieces exhibit the same feelings. It feels good to be working on a collection again.

Featured on today's blog are photos from the indoor location Conor and I found and shot in.

I will also be uploading the full set from this day in the 2017 portfolio tab.
