Beginning July

Good morning. I'm cozied up inside listening to the rain drop from the bedroom window. It's been at least 3 days since the cooler, wetter, weather kicked in, but its stuck around longer than predicted. I'm hopeful that as predicted it will clear by tomorrow, allowing shoot plans to continue without issue.

Coming into the end of the week I've got a several exciting projects coming into reality. I've been working on some really feminine pieces and will be shooting with some models I've met at events and runways over the years. It feels good to switch it up and try new things. Putting more than one model in a frame creates such a diverse and unique dynamic. I'm also honored to have a very talented photographer and makeup artist on board. I don't normally work with such a big team, but honestly I have enjoyed the process and the opportunity to connect with so many creative people.

Perhaps I'm still new here. However, Calgary feels more artsy to me than ever. I see creativity everywhere.

In the garden, the rain is bringing the plants up at great speed. It's so fun to look at the garden and know Mike and I brought that garden into existence. Before it was just several grass hills. Now, there is plant life on all the slopes. A garden is seriously a fun and awesome activity. It's amazing to me, to watch plump, juicy fruits grow from small vines and stems that came from an even smaller, sometimes microscopic seeds. I'm in awe of the process really. Of all the things I've growth this year, my veggies, herbs and greens have really taken off. I think it's important to note, and keep a record of this as this is my very first year planting in Alberta. Before planting, research has shown me that berries tend to do very well in this climate. One of my first plants in the garden was a raspberry plant. It has not fruited this year. My guess is that is still too young. I am hopeful that over the next two years it will gain enough maturity to bear fruit.

Here are some photos of nature. I took them while Mike and I were out on our little road trip last weekend. It's different from my usual green nature posts. We went to the natural hot springs and it was so fascinating to see the hot steamy water coming out of the ground. I've never seen anything like it.
