Back To Blogging

Happy 2019!

It has been about a year & 6 months since my last post. A fascinating reflection. Time can be used as such a wonderful reflection tool if desired.

Whilst shooting some new handmade designs this morning during a wonderfully sunny & warm period with my friend Vic, he reminded me of my writings here. I was not aware he had been reading.

I had lost touch with my goal & reasoning's I'd had for writing to begin with. Maybe I was too closely looking at what I was doing without thinking to take a step back. Whatever the case, that time has come & past. These reflections led me to take a break & give myself the time to reflect on why I write & what writing does for me.

Here are few observations I've had during the time in between my writings:

1) Whether I blog or not, I wake with the desire to write. Far back in my memory, comes the longing to tell stories. Really stories. Stories that bridge gaps & bring forth the opportunity of understanding. Stories that accentuate detail & expression, uses of the senses. Stories of reflections. Stories that may otherwise remain untold. I feel I can no longer or without good reason deny myself the opportunity to continue to share these stories here.

2) My writings did & have in their time connected & re-connected me with some really wonderful people who I am grateful to know. I hope that in time people can continue to connect with me through my writings & the opportunity these blogs bring to better understand me as an artist & human.

3) I realize my blogs have been a great source of accountability for me, allowing me to "clear my mind" in a sense, sorting through priorities & on goings, picking out the what resonates or what I think is worth sharing. It is so nice to have a space to slow down & be mindful of what life has been, what life is, and what life could be.

4) Writing itself is a practice of thoughtfulness for me. It is something I enjoy doing. I appreciate the mental stimulation & call to reflect.

Taking these observations into consideration I have decided to pick up where I left off & continue to write & share reflections about life & it's happenings in this space.

Thank you Vic, for encouraging me in regards to my blogging.

As time passes I realize I miss this process., I am excited to making this space a part of my regular on-goings again.

Please excuse the outdated nature of the rest of the site whilst I arrange & update.

In the meantime here are some summer blossoms I captured around the neighborhood.
