To be honest, It's a strange time for me.

I find myself dealing with changes. Words fail me. Weeks pass & my hope remains that I will find them. They do not come with ease. Even on paper, they choke. The flow is not smooth.

How I miss the days that I used to write. Now a days I find myself feeling as though I stare at paper. I miss the moments I felt so in touch with my emotions & feelings that I could simply express them, write them down. I say that in spite of the fact that I prefer not to look back on past writings. It's a funny thing. My relationship with writing makes me curious as to how it relates to other artists. Does the musician like to hear their recordings? Does the actor like to watch the films they act in?

The sun peaks through the clouds offering a soft relief from a gloomy & cloudy interval. It's a nice surprise. Its been a rather rainy & cool July. Mostly sweater weather.

It's stampede week., which means Calgary is everything cowboy for the interval.

The longer I live here, the longer it seems to grow on me.

They call it the largest outdoor show in the world. It really is something.

This year I have had the opportunity to work on the event through the local theatre union. Although the work is quite physically demanding, I do find myself enjoying the work as well as the people I meet on the job. The quality of being to be able to try new things is one I feel grateful to have. In a place that is still very new to me in many aspects, as well as large, I think it's important to remember all that I've done in my time here already. Looking back on past projects fills me with optimism for the future.

Growing with the art community here in the city has been a very rewarding process for me. It's exciting to think of the opportunities & connections the future will bring.

I've been updating the 2019 portfolio. There is so much work to add.

It feels great to get things updated & spend time working on the website. I've not spent much time here over the past year. Bringing things up to date feels refreshing, and has also been serving as a great reminder of the amazing work that has been done.

Not posting or spending much time on social media has given me a large opportunity to clarify & organize what my goals are at this time & how I can work towards them. It's been a good feeling.

Below, a few photos from a recent shoot on a lovely day, shot by my dear friend Robyn @ " Kats Pyjamas photography.
