I'll try to keep this as organized as possible.

Please note this marks the beginning & I plan to add several other titles to this page before the years end. I have found a calm & enjoyment I had not previously been aware of in reading & or listening to books. The below list is a collection of both.

1) Soul Study

1996 - Zhi Gang Sha

I found this book in a thrifty book shop in Kelowna several years ago. It sat amongst my books for months on end.

Finally, it's time came as I tucked it in my purse before heading out on a trip. If ever I was more drawn to reading, it was when travelling.

This book really resonated with me. I was refreshed to learn & understand a perspective I found quite different to which I had become familiar or perhaps indoctrinated by.

I found useful & in my opinion practical techniques for handling & managing stress.

I've since loaned the book to a friend.

2) F*** Feelings

2015 - Michael Bennet

I was able to find the audio for this book on youtube. I found that enjoyable as I often like to listen while I sew. The book was over 12 hours in audio. I was very captivated and finished it in a matter of days. I appreciated the honest & realistic perspective.

3)The future of the women's Movement

1913 - Helena Swanwick

This book is much shorter as an audio - just under 6 hours. I listened to this very mindfully & repetitively at times about 6 months ago. I think of it often. Maybe because of what I am going through. Maybe because of how relevant I find it to my life. In further learners I've discovered her writings were inspired by John Stuart Mills 1869 novel " The subjection of women". I've decided I'd like to read this book also to gain further insight.

4) Small Miracles for Women

2008 - Judith Leventhal

I was gravitated to this book just weeks ago. It stood out to me on the shelf and as I picked it up & opened it I remained equally intrigued.

It's a collection of short stories submitted by women all over. I loved being able to read a couple short stories when I had the time. Before I knew it, I'd finished it. I found I was inspired & uplifted by the stories.

My friend Samantha has recently gifted me a few books of similar genre which I look forward to picking up & hopefully getting into. I say hopefully but I've already some how gotten through 255 pages of one of the thicker titles I had been drawn to. It's a novel, which I'm not normally drawn to at all. It's exciting to break down these barriers & just enjoy the information.

5) Whom not to marry

2010 - Pat Connor

Despite the fact that I normally feel gravitated to older titles, I was drawn into this little book as soon as I opened it. Filled with comforting nodes of reassurance that there is no rush, ever, at any time. A thoughtful & experienced opinion on marriage & long-term relationships. An alternative & clear perspective, absolutely.
