The last day of June

The clouds and current rain have brought in a cold temperature I was not expecting.
It's definitely sweater and blanket weather.
I was hoping to have some time to work on the garden on my days off this week but the cold, cloudy, and rainy weather has shifted my plans. I moved some of my more "fragile" plants into the greenhouse for the time being, mostly just to protect them from harsh winds or unexpected hail.
I was getting used to the stormy afternoons but the "all day" storms are new to me. In place of my garden plans has been a great deal of reading. I found a book published in 1988 that I felt very drawn to so I took it home to add to my collection. Within two days I'd read the book from start to finish, thoroughly captivated the whole way through.
I've also been working on a few sewing projects. It's been fun to get back into the habit. Soon I plan to move from utilitarian mending to a few more creative projects.
It's unbelievable, how quickly these summer months pass by.
I've begun drying florals from the yard again this year. It's exciting to watch the collection increase as I add to the bunch and observe them as they dry out, each in their own time.
