Philosophy (tidbits)

The past days and weeks have contained new awareness's and discoveries that have been consuming my thoughts.

I love philosophy and I love the way thinking philosophically stimulates my mental.

A few years ago I learned a quote which I hold near and believe to bear an ultimate truth:

"when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change".

I catch myself observing and speculating about many things in ways that I feel differ from past examinations and speculations.

It's been one of my favorite quotes recently as it inspires me to explore different angles and perspectives when processing thoughts and ideas.

I have pushed myself over the past year to try news things and stay open as possible to opportunities and people. I have enjoyed the results of this practice and I am recording it here as a reminder of its effective and valuable contribution to my life.

I have had the bulk of this post written for weeks, but it's end notes and wrapping it up have lingered on.

Maybe it's the lack of writing over the past days and weeks, maybe it's just part of the process of getting into it.

Maybe it's because I left my earphones in the car.

I'm such a creature of habit with my music and my coffee and my set up which I feel is all a part of what gets me into my zone. Lately though, I reflect on the concept that all these extra things may in fact be separating me from my zone and being able to get there faster.

The heap of everything I want to do to update the website seems to keep me from getting started at the momentum and pace I'd like.

The reminder that it does not all need to be accomplished in a day draws me back in to the process.

Through writing, and through updates, page by page, little by little, with planning and goals, I remain excited to bring the website closer to a point I'd like it to be.

I was reflecting, briefly, this morning, on a shoot from this past summer with Vic Kirby.

He is such an amazing photographer and it is my pleasure to create and spend time reflecting on art in nature with him.
