Yule season

The past weeks snow continues to cover most neighborhood roads.

After a few days of driving around with a snow shovel in the back of my car, I'm convinced its the only way for me to get around in these conditions.

Driving in depthy snow is an art all of its own.

The whole event has caused me to spend extra time at home over the past few days.

I've spent several hours beside the coffee table that I have set up with many candles. I find them very peaceful and I light them whenever I have a few hours to spare. It's fun to relax and enjoy their ambiance and different scents.

I've spent quite a bit of time organizing as well.

Organizing feels like an endless part of my life this year.

Since moving into a smaller space I have been paying much more attention to my in/out ratio. there is simply not enough space for excess.

It's been a great opportunity to take a closer look at the things I have, again, and evaluate whether or not the variety of things still have a value and place in my life.

My sister has become a minimalist this past year and it has been very inspiring for me to observe.

This holiday season in particular I've been working to clear out my kitchen cupboards.

There is simply not enough space to store things that aren't being eaten and used.

It has been quite satisfying to work away and organize the kitchen more because being it's size, it really needs to be as organized and accessible as possible.

I actually enjoy that being in a smaller space again has motivated me to keep things as organized as possible.

As I slowly clear unnecessary things from the space, it feels bigger and as though I can see more of it.

It's strange to think I'm still getting set up and familiar with this space but that's how it feels.

I've recently added some new string lights to different areas of my space and I enjoy the ambiance and warmth they provide.

I've had a few cozy Christmas days already this season.

It's been good to push myself to get back into my own space and zone. There are so many things I enjoy doing on my own time that I find it sometimes hard to know where to begin with it all.

This time has been a great opportunity to start where ever and see where it leads.

The work is not done but the progress is visible.

I've also really been enjoying some time just to be in my own space.
